SALE CANCELLED:

We regret that the sale scheduled for 14th November has had to be cancelled as there are insufficient numbers of cattle and sheep booked to justify holding a sale.

To assist producers who have stock booked into this sale, we have arranged with Dingwall Mart to provide transport from Stornoway Mart to Dingwall Mart on Monday 19th November. There are various cattle and sheep sales during that week and Dingwall Mart staff will ensure the stock will be entered in the appropriate sales.

Can sellers please contact Lewis and Harris Auction Mart as soon as possible if they wish to take advantage of the transport to Dingwall? The cost of transport will be deducted from the sale proceeds by Dingwall Auction Mart.

The Lewis & Harris Auction Mart operates sheep and cattle sales from their premises on the outskirts of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.

We work with our partners at Dingwall and Highland Marts LTD to provide local sales for the crofters and stock producers of Lewis and Harris. We hold six sales a year for various classes of sheep and cattle.

Lewis & Harris Auction Mart is a trading subsidiary of of the Long Island Rural Trust. The organisation is run by a team of voluntary directors and other contributors and relies on the support of local crofters to maintain and operate the facility. All local staff working on sale days are volunteers.

Our website provides information about this season's sales, including catalogues and sale reports. Online booking is also available for all sales. Booking for all sales close one week beforehand to allow for catalogues to be completed and appropriate stock transport arranged.
