Sale Report for Tuesday 8th September 2026

Lewis and Harris Auction Mart held the second sale of the 2026 season on Tuesday 8th September. The sale, held in conjunction with our partners at Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., saw the auction of 3,569 store lambs and sheep of all classes.  Prices seen at the first sale were closely replicated at this sale and it was noted that there was a lot of quality stock going through the ring. There was particularly strong demand for ewes, especially top quality gimmers.  

Leading Prices:
Lambs (2,456) averaged £75.35 (+£4.35 on the year) and sold to £185 gross for a Badgerface Cheviot Ewe Lamb from 6 Glen Kyles, Leverburgh.
Gimmers (131) sold to £195 gross Twice for a pen of Blackfaces from 7 Arnol, Westside and a pen of of Blackfaces from Cean Na Thuth, Arnol.
Ewes (914) sold to £155 gross for a pair of Suffolk Crosses from 6 Glen Kyles, Leverburgh.
Rams & Feeding Sheep (68) sold to £154 gross for a Cheviot Ram from 2B Leurbost, Crossbost.
