Lewis and Harris Auction Mart held its first sale of the 2025 season on Wednesday 21st August. The sale, held in conjunction with our partners at Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., saw the auction of 3964 store lambs and sheep of all categories. There was an excellent show of quality lambs and prices saw very significant increases on the equivalent sale last year. Described by many as a tremendous sale!
Lambs (3,755) averaged £77.62 (up £14.73 on the year) and sold to £140 gross for a pair of Cheviot cross lambs from 1 Eordale, Ness. Feeding Sheep (190) sold to £166 for a Suffolk cross ewe from 27 Cross, Ness. Gimmers (32) sold to £160 for a pen of Cheviots from 9 Upper Barvas, Isle of Lewis.
